Cardano is an open-source decentralized blockchain and cryptocurrency project as well as the first peer-reviewed blockchain in the world. It was created by Ethereum co-founder Charles Hoskinson who has put a lot of effort into this project and established 3 organizations. Cardano is a smart contract platform similar to Ethereum that has its own digital token called Ada. Ada received its name thanks to famous mathematician Ada Lovelace. The Cardano Foundation, IOHK, and Emurgo work in synergy to develop the Cardano 3rd generation blockchain.
