Perpetual protocol is a decentralized protocol offering contract trading in every asset. The protocol was founded in 2019, and it was formerly known as strike protocol. The protocol comprises two parts, a Uniswap-inspired automated market maker (AMM) and a built-in Staking Pool. The staking pool is determined algorithmically, and it provides a backstop for every virtual market. PERP is the platform’s governance token, used in governance and staking. Holders of the native token PERP assure the protocol’s insurance Fund. The insurance fund is used to cover any losses, and if it is depleted, the protocol mints more PERP to refill the fund. Perpetual Protocol supports USDC trading pairs for Bitcoin and Ethereum and various DeFi tokens, e.g., Aave, Sushi, and Chainlink.
