Chris: Hi! Can you tell us more about yourself and the role you're playing in that blooming project?
Brandon: I am Brandon "Goblin Bro" Arellano, the lead dev of Goblin Saga. With over five years of experience in blockchain development and NFT creation, I have been dedicated to integrating Web3 technology into an immersive and sustainable gaming experience.
Chris: What is your Web3 journey like? What inspired you to create Goblin Saga, and how did the idea evolve into what it is today?
Brandon: My journey into Web3 began with a deep fascination for blockchain technology, particularly its applications in NFTs and decentralized finance. Goblin Saga emerged as an idea to merge these elements into a gamified ecosystem where holders could mine, trade, and utilize NFTs with real utility. Over time, thanks to valuable community feedback, the project evolved into a robust ecosystem integrating NFTs, staking, and digital mining mechanics within a sustainable economic model.
Chris: Can you explain how the Goblin NFTs work in relation to mining $xGSA? How does this mechanism provide sustainability for the ecosystem?
Brandon: Goblin NFTs serve as the cornerstone of our ecosystem. Initially, players could mint these NFTs and use them to generate $xGSA within our gamified mining application. With the migration, $xGSA evolved into $WGSA (Wrapped Goblin Saga Token) and was incorporated into an ERC-20 staking system. Meanwhile, $GSA became the primary token of the ecosystem, allowing miners to generate $GSA directly. This transition fosters user engagement and opens new applications within the ecosystem.
Chris: The $GSA token has a capped supply of 21 billion — why was this number chosen, and how does it contribute to long-term economic stability?
Brandon: The decision to set a total supply of 21 billion $GSA was a strategic choice aimed at balancing accessibility with scarcity. This figure ensures economic stability, allows the token to appreciate over time, and facilitates long-term financial planning for the project.
Chris: The migration to new smart contracts and token unification was a big step. What challenges did you face during the process, and how did you overcome them?
Brandon: The migration process presented significant challenges, including ensuring data integrity, maintaining user trust, and minimizing downtime. We implemented a three-phase strategy:
- Deploying the new multi-chain token on Polygon, Binance Smart Chain, and Ethereum.
- Developing new mining smart contracts with the updated token.
- Distributing the new token to holders via airdrop.
- Effective communication with the community and robust technical support were essential in ensuring a smooth transition.
Chris: With $GSA expanding to Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain, how do you see multi-chain accessibility benefiting the project’s growth?
Brandon: Expanding $GSA to Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain enhances accessibility and liquidity, enabling users to transact on their preferred network. This expansion reduces transaction costs, alleviates blockchain congestion, and broadens the project's reach to a wider audience. We are currently developing bridges to facilitate seamless token swaps without additional fees beyond the standard network transaction costs.
Chris: What are some ways the community has already contributed to the project’s success, and how do you plan to foster further engagement?
Brandon: The community has played a crucial role in the success of the project, providing valuable feedback and actively participating in key decision-making through roundtable discussions. To foster greater engagement, we have introduced community events, governance mechanisms, and reward programs that incentivize active participation among holders.
Chris: Goblin Saga integrates DeFi elements like staking and farming. How do you see these features evolving as the ecosystem grows?
Brandon: Currently, we offer staking pools for $GSA/$WGSA and POL/$GSA, allowing holders to maximize their earnings. As the ecosystem grows, we continue to explore new DeFi opportunities that will enhance the in-game economy and further incentivize user participation.
Chris: As blockchain gaming projects grow, scalability becomes an issue. How is Goblin Saga addressing transaction efficiency and gas fees, especially as it expands to new networks?
Brandon: To address scalability challenges, Goblin Saga is built on networks such as Polygon, known for their low fees and high transaction throughput. As we expand to Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain, we plan to implement Layer 2 solutions and optimize our smart contracts to reduce costs further. Additionally, maintaining strong technical support and open communication with the community remains a priority to ensure a seamless user experience.
Chris: Thanks for being with me, any last words? Where can our readers follow you?
Brandon: We look forward to welcoming you to our community!
