Aave LINK – is an open-source and decentralized liquidity pool where people can lend and borrow crypto. It runs on the Ethereum blockchain and is currently running on Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus after transitioning from Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus. It was released in 2017 as ETHLend by Stani Kulechov but later rebranded to Aave.
Aave Link has two tokens; AAVE and aTokens. aToken is an interest-bearing token that is minted on deposit and burned when redeeming. The AAVE token is the native governance token in the Aave Link protocol and one of the largest decentralized finance (DeFi) tokens.
