Mask Network is a decentralized protocol which allows users to share encrypted messages with their friends on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. It acts as a portal between a decentralized network and the internet. When launching this project in 2019, Suji Yan aimed at creating a network that allowed end-to-end encryption to deny developers access to users' data.
The Network offers peer-to-peer payments as well as decentralized storage. Therefore, users do not need a decentralized Applet (DApplet) ecosystem for transactions. They use Decentralized Applications (DApps) and decentralized organizations (DAO) on top of existing social networks. The Shanghai-based Network was founded in 2019 by Suji Yan. The Network uses MASK as the governance token, the bridge between Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 in the Mask Network.
