THORChain(ERC-20) is a cryptocurrency exchange blockchain that allows users to swap tokens across chains without wrapped or pegged tokens. The blockchain was institutionalized in 2018. The platform is built using Cosmos SDK that serves as a cross-chain decentralized exchange (DEX). Additionally, it uses an automated market maker (AMM) to facilitate crypto-asset swaps allowing traders to move between different asset pools. THORChain aims to connect all blockchain assets in a liquidity marketplace using continuous liquidity pools and cross-chain bridges. Since THORChain is Tendermint-based, it utilizes Tendermint BFT (Byzantine Fault Tolerance) as its consensus mechanism and employs Proof-of-Stake (PoS) Sybil resistance. Liquidity providers, therefore, add liquidity to the various pools powering exchanges and earning rewards via slip fees. THORChain uses RUNE tokens as the utility token.
