Loom Network is a distributed enterprise platform that provides data management services to institutions. It is built on the Ethereum network and allows developers to build and deploy large-scale decentralized applications (DApps). It was founded in 2017 by co-founders Matthew Campbell, Luke Zhang, and James Martin Duffy. It aims to help developers have smart contracts with more computing power or maintain the same capacity at lower costs. Also, Loom allows developers to make new applications without the need to change the programming language. By so doing, a user can interact with APIs developed by third parties who are not even in the chain. It relies on Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) consensus, zkLoom protocol, and Ethereum mainnet for scalability and security. LOOM, an ERC-20 standard token, power this network.
