How's everybody doing? This time around we are talking to Leon — COO of Bithotel.
Experience in digital marketing and startups.
Well-versed in areas such as social media advertising, email marketing, SEO, and online advertising.
Chris: Hi there! You have a gorgeous website! What is BitHotel is layman's terms?
Leon: Bit Hotel is a social-first play-to-earn game, where users can acquire unique digital assets called NFTs (non-fungible tokens) through the use of in-game tokens called Bit Hotel tokens. These NFTs can be used in the game and have special perks or abilities. These NFTs can also be traded on open marketplaces. The game offers a metaverse where players can meet, interact and compete with other players and also participate in decentralized governance. In the game, players can build and upgrade hotel rooms, and use them to host events and gatherings. Bit hotel offers users the ability to retain anonymity and authenticity within the game and also evoke the nostalgia of 8-bit games.
Chris: Great! What are your main functions?
Leon: My main functions are overseeing the day-to-day operations of the studio, developing and implementing the company's overall strategy and long-term plans and generally managing the finances and resources of the company
Chris: Amazing! How advanced is the game?
Leon: The game is currently in its closed beta version. we currently have around 50k MAU and we are releasing new features and minigames almost on a weekly basis
Chris: How can people buy items and which items are we talking about here?
Leon: People can buy items ranging from Characters to hotel rooms and furniture through our in game shop. These can be purchased with our native token BTH.
Chris: Talk about your marketplace, if possible.
Leon: Our marketplace is where all in-game items can be traded. players can win items by playing the minigames and can then trade them on the marketplace using BTH.
Chris: I see. On the personal note: when the idea was formed and by whom? Did you pivot along the way?
Leon: The idea was formed in 2021 after seeing the trend in web3 move to gaming. We decided the social concepts in games such as Roblox and Habbo fit really well for a web3 game, with true ownership of in-game items on-chain. That's when we started putting pen to paper and pitching partners that were open to invest, which went smoothly around that time. We raised 3M$ end of 2021 to make Bit Hotel a reality, fully crowd-funded with the native token.
Chris: What are your thoughts on the state of the crypto market in general?
Leon: Currently is the best time to build. All the noise left the market and all entrepreneurs are left, making amazing tech.
Chris: Thanks for the talk. Wising you a great deal of luck! Where can we follow your updates?
Leon: Over on our official channels linked on bithotel.io.
