Chris: Hi! Can you tell us more about yourself and the role you're playing in that blooming project?
Basit: My name is Basit Nasir and am a serial entrepreneur. You can call me Basit, I am a visionary who loves building an innovating. I founded Zahnymous over a year ago but the actual company wasn’t founded until February 24, 2022 named Zahnymous LTD. In terms of position you can just call me founder or CEO of Zahnymous.
Chris: Thanks for being here. Zahnymous enables people just like me to buy gift cards with cryptocurrency— is that right?
Basit: Yes, users can buy giftcards with cryptocurrency but our business model is so much more than just giftcards. When I built ZAH it was an idea of how do I have my own cryptocurrency but instantly use it to buy a new laptop or groceries for my home. How do I instantly have digital tokens in my wallet like ZAH but have something then tangible in my hands within seconds.
Chris: Can you please share how big is your market? How popular is such a feature in general?
Basit: Giftcards in itself are billion dollar industry the allowance of our platform is possibly a trillion dollar industry. To me my website is so much more than just giftcards it is a way to transfer value. That is what crypto is about in my opinion transferring value from 1 to another within seconds. We want to pioneer that aspect of crypto payments.
Chris: What gift cards are the hottest ones, especially around Holidays?
Basit: Hottest giftcards are definitely big name brands Uber Eats, Walmart, Argos, big box retailers.
Chris: You position yourself to be a secure fintech solution — what advantages do you possess in this regard?
Basit: There are 2 advantages in regards to our business model compared to competitors. We connect web3 into physical world transactions. No other gift card site has a dApp integrated in their system. Our goal is to connect cryptocurrency and everyday application. We are in doubt the first ever dApp created specifically for real world payments.
Another huge advantage is the fact we can onboard tokens giving them real world application instead of just our own. SOWL Token for example first Learn 2 Earn game had a spending utility given by the Zahnymous brand.
So what makes us special is our decentralized approach to crypto application and the fact that we can take decentralized tokens and give them spending utility.
Chris: I can see some of your efforts are focused on De-Fi. Can you share which ones and elaborate on details?
Basit: DeFi is a relative term for a niche based category in crypto. Our spin on DeFi is actually new. Usually its about collaterals, loans, staking etc, what we do is pioneer a new form of Decentralized Finance. By decentralizing the way users spend cryptocurrency.
Chris: On a personal note: how old is the company and how the initial idea came into play?
Basit: I answered this before but would love to round back to it. The company Zahnymous LTD formed February 24, 2022 and the initial idea came about in my room. I wanted to create my own cryptocurrency and be able to use it anywhere I was in the world with no barrier to entry. That is exactly what I did.
Chris: What are some vital lessons that you have learned along the way?
Basit: Never answer DMs haha, no but on a serious note determination. How bad do you want it.
When you read that you might say… what in the world does he mean how bad do I want it? How bad do I want what?
The answer is success, are you willing to give your absolute all even if you know there is a possibility of failure. Are you willing to risk your capital to make a business a success. Even if that means the chance to lose every dollar. Well if you are, then welcome to crypto. Cause its built around sheer
determination.
Chris: Would you do something differently if you could start everything afresh?
Basit: Yes, instead of wasting time on getting a debit card program I wish we went with giftcards first. This would have saved us about 3 months of time. But debit cards will come just not right this second.
The idea was to have ZAH our crypto loaded on a debit card and then it being able to be used anywhere in the world. The idea is to make a real currency out of crypto technology.
Chris: What are your plans for the foreseeable future? 3-6 months.
Basit: Expanding on my catalog, entering international markets, looking at possible exchange listings, adding possible integration with big names like VISA or MC.
