How's everybody doing? This time around we are talking to Dmitry Mishunin — Chief Executive Officer, Founder of HashEx.
Chris: Greetings! Thanks for accepting my invitation! HashEx is 'Most Trusted DeFi Intelligence; accourding to your website — how so?
Dmitry: HashEx was founded in 2017, and in 5 years we have gained a lot of experience in DeFi security. Along with that, we have secured billions of users’ funds, protected thousands of DeFi projects from external attacks, and developed various solutions for crypto companies.
Today HashEx is an experienced team of auditors, developers, and consultants that sets DeFi security standards. Aside from smart contracts security audits and developing solutions for blockchain, we develop our own security tools for DeFi.
Last year we launched CryptEx Locker – a liquidity locker that allows blocking it for a set period of time. As long as the liquidity is locked on a CryptEx smart contract, the possibility of any malicious actions from the team is minimized. Projects often choose this service to show their investors that they are serious about security and are prepared to protect their clients from so-called ‘rug pulls’
Another development from our team is AnalytEx - a unique system that gathers and processes real-time data from all blockchains. Just imagine that one app stores ALL data necessary for making informed financial decisions.
This is why HashEx brings the most trusted DeFi Intelligence to the community. Security and reliability of the DeFi space are the main goals of our company.
Chris: Sounds interesting! Tell us about security audits please.
Dmitry: Security audits are a necessary step for any decentralized project. Since everything functions on smart contracts, it only makes sense that they have to work properly to deliver the results. This is where audits come in. We ensure that there is no possibility for malfunction, external, or internal attack.
The way we do it, is we take the code with documentation, study it, then assign a team to review the code. We use automated tools and then additional manual audits to achieve the most thorough results.
Now you can get a 10% discount from us for an audit of a smart contract until December 31
Chris: How did you become DSA Alliance Member?
Dmitry: We aim to collaborate and maintain good relations with various notable projects in the crypto industry. The Alliance is one of them. We have recently been approved for the DSA membership, and it’s something we are proud of. DeFi Security Alliance is a community of experienced auditors and blockchain developers, and they put a lot of effort into selecting and approving their members to present a list of trustworthy auditors to the clients. We share a common goal of DeFi security, so it was certainly the right decision for us.
Chris: And what are the most popular types of audit?
Dmitry: During our five years of work, we have completed over 1000 audits. Most often we are approached by projects written in Solidity language, and it’s usually DEXs, Lending protocols, staking contracts, and tokens.
Chris: How big of a role does the community play in your business?
Dmitry: Community always plays a big role in any blockchain-related project. They are why we do what we do, so their opinion matters.
For us, our core community is developers and our fellow auditors. Which is why we create free tools, share our security knowledge base, and help them grow. For instance, we have a free ABI encoder for encoding smart contract’s arguments https://abi.hashex.org/ , we publish educational articles https://hackernoon.com/how-to-set-up-a-framework-a-developers-guide, and much more.
One of our goals is to teach security standards to beginner developers. For this, we have built HashEx Academy – an online school. It’s a work in progress, but we already have certification available. You can pass a test that determines your Solidity knowledge and get a certificate that confirms your level.
And in the near future, we are launching a course for developers in which we will share our knowledge gained in the field.
Aside from that, in Academy, we help students and specialists to find a job in blockchain, and offer consulting and internships.
Chris: Can you tell our readers about some lessons in business that you learned along the way?
Dmitry: The main piece of advice that I can share is don’t chase gains, chase the opportunity to be useful and helpful to the community and your clients. Be honest and be open, and the profit will come.
Chris: Thanks! Where can we follow you?
Dmitry: We’ll be happy to connect with you in our Telegram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
